bottle of hearts

February is here! Here is a Valentine that is not only fun, but also uses recycled materials.  I used a soda bottle (cleaned of course!) and filled it with conversation hearts. I think nothing says Valentine's better then conversation hearts! Sadly they don't put the white hearts in the mix anymore, those were my favorite! If you want to make one of these yourself, here is the printable label.  Hope you enjoy getting ready for Valentine's Day!

tic tac valentine

Here is a super easy diy valentine! These are great for teenagers or even adults.  All you need is a few packs of tic tacs, a glue stick, scissors, and to print the tic tac valentine labels. I also peeled the original tic tac labels off a little bit on the bottom of the front and back of the package.  That way you don't cover up too much of the clear plastic, so that you can see more of the candy inside. Then once you print the candy labels, just cut them, and use a glue stick to glue them over the original label.

the christmas season is here

I love Christmas! It's such a wonderful time of the year! With this being my daughter, Avery's second Christmas I wanted to make an advent calendar.  Even before I had her I knew I wanted it to be more then just opening a cardboard box with a gross chocolate in it.  Not that I didn't love doing that when I was a kid, but I am all about making things bigger and better.  I can't help it!  So she will have 25 little gifts to open each day until Christmas.  I think I am more excited then she is!  I think when we have more kids I might put activities in the packages instead of gifts.  For example, "Today we are going to make gingerbread houses" or "Today we are going to watch a Christmas movie."  That would be so fun!

This "Nightmare Before Halloween" party pack has arrived just in time for your Halloween party!  Included in the free downloadable prints is a banner, cupcake toppers, an invitation, and party favors.  For the party favors, just print these out and glue them around an empty toilet paper roll. Then put a small toy or candy in each one and cover it with clear cellophane and tie on each side!  Enjoy!

halloween hearth

I love decorating for Halloween and I think my favorite thing to decorate is the fireplace! This year I went with a neon and black theme.  I got the cool black owl and black vase from HomeGoods. I love that place! The "boo" lettering I got at Joanns and painted it neon green with neon green sparkles.  Then I got some Halloween scrapbook paper and traced the letters and glued that on the bottom part of the letters.  I wanted my paper banner to tie into the top of the fireplace decorations some how, so this was my solution! I got the neon yellow skull at Joanns too and painted that neon yellow with neon yellow sparkles.  The pumpkin was from the Dollar Tree, I painted it neon orange with sparkles. Then I wrapped the stem with twine, so it would match the burlap.  I used the twine for the hanging banner also, I just hot glued the paper triangles right onto the twine rope.  Finally I got the cool little orange lights at target.  They are battery operated so I don't have to worry about my daughter pulling on them!  So I was super excited about finding them!  So we're ready for Halloween here!  Are you?

halloween bottle labels

Halloween is one of the best times of the year!  There are so many decoration ideas right now on Pinterest and at all the craft stores, it's hard to decide which ones to create!  So these cute little potion bottles are super quick, easy, and cheap.  I got the bottles from joanns and homegoods for around $1-$3 depending on the size.  Then I just filled them with water and food coloring.  I thought maybe you could even add glitter if you wanted to add some sparkle!  Then I just printed these labels on white sticker paper and attached them to the bottles!  If you don't have sticker paper you can also print them on regular paper and glue or tape them onto the bottles.  Super easy and super cute!  If you would like the labels, click here to download them.  Hope everyone is having a great time getting ready for halloween!  I know I am!
